Boat Painter in Harbor

A sailor puts finishing touches painting his boat in the marina harbor. Valparaiso port is a huge import/export site--for autos, copper, fruit and wine. Boats in the port range from military boats and barges to small fishing and tourist boats. Valparaiso resembles a medieval European harbor more than a 20th century commercial port. Once a lively, wealthy seaport, Valpo was hurt when the Panama Canal opened. It never recovered.
