Hiking Through Wet Alaskan Forest

Forest and landscape near Sitka with forests of uncut old growth spruce, hemlock and cedar trees. The trees are 600-800 years old and have a diameter of 6 feet. Kenyon Fields, Executive Director of  Sitka Conservation Society, takes his boat to a nearby forest to hike though old growth that hasn't been cut near Sitka.  Sarah Shoen balances over a stream on the hike, The grassroots organization he heads is involved in lawsuits against the US Forest Service to discourage timber sales in old growth forests.
