Feeding Calves After School

The three brothers own Brunton Dairy in Western Pennsylvania and are the seventh generation to work the 200 acre farm.  Since 1832 Bruntons have raised cows and milked as a family business.  James Junior Brunton and his younger brother Ed milk 104 cows twice daily and deliver to shops and residences, while youngest brother Herb delivers milk they bottle at the farm and makes ice cream.  .But it takes more than the three brothers to run the farm,  Mary Jane (married to James) and their children Jim, Jerry and Rachel all work full time on the farm too.  Rachel's twin Stacy holds a job in town but also helps when she returns home. Jeff (a teacher) also fills in. Herb's three boys also join in--Rich, 9. Tom, 5, and Cole, 2...The farm delivers milk to homes within a 15 mile radius of Aliquippa, and to stores and markets in Beaver and Allegheny counties seven days a week...Mary Jane helps feed the heifers with the held of Tom and Richard.  Rachel arrives with a newborn calf.
