Hiker in Awe of Old Growth Forest

Forest and landscape near Sitka with forests of uncut old growth spruce, hemlock and cedar trees. The trees are 600-800 years old and have a diameter of 6 feet. Kenyon Fields, Executive Director of Sitka Conservation Society, takes his boat to a nearby forest to hike though old growth that hasn't been cut near Sitka. The grassroots organization he heads is involved in lawsuits against the US Forest Service to discourage timber sales in old growth forests.
